Cell Culture Specialist - Cell Biologics, Inc. Chicago, IL 60612

 

Cell Biologics is a growing biotech that manufactures and sells cultured cells to esearch labs and pharma companies around the world. We are seeking an experienced and motivated senior research specialist. This position involves rodent studies and the culturing of cells to increase the company’s product offerings. Also required is the ability to implement new and existing methods/techniques to generate cells and test them to ensure cell culture quality control.

 

Primary Responsibilities

- Collaborate with scientific team to culture and test primary cells

- Maintain cell inventories, as well as data records

- Prepare frozen cell culture stock for long term storage and removal of cells from frozen stock

- Assist with ordering lab supplies and maintaining laboratory stock and inventories

- Aid in the implementation of general laboratory maintenance protocols

- Other laboratory organization and general laboratory management as delegated

Minimum Qualifications

- Candidates must have 2 years of previous CELL CULTURE experience and a Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology or an equivalent field preferred.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is essential.

- Experience in cell culture and mouse surgery procedure is considered a plus, but enthusiastic and driven starters are also welcome.

Experience:  cell culture: 2 years (Preferred)

 

Laboratory Assistant -- Part Time, Entry Level

We are looking for a reliable individual to join our lab as a part-time Entry Level.

Hours are Wednesday and Thursday 1:00 am - 5:00 pm. $10-$15 per hour.

This person will be under direct supervision to assist with the culture of primary cells, along with performing other general lab work with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Must (1) be able to work flexible schedule; (2) have good communication and writing skills; (3) have some familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and QuickBooks.

Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science area is required. Applicant's living outside of the Chicago area will not be considered.

 

Cell Culture Specialist

This person will be responsible for the culture of different types of cells from human and animal tissues. He/ She is expected to master cell culture methods, define customer specifications and process customer orders, along with providing Technical Support to customers over the phone and email. The individual will need to be capable of aintaining good relationships with suppliers, operational staff, sales/marketing/business development, customer service, and distributors.

 

Intern

Overview: Internship Starts ASAP. A period of 2-6 months and paid by the hour. 8-20 hours per week depending on the intern's schedule.

 

Job Description: The Research Intern, under direct supervision, will assist with the culture of different types of primary cells and small animal procedures, along with performing other general lab work and duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications: The candidate should be a current college student, having completed at least some freshman level science courses, and who has: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail- Ability to multitask and maintain several projects at one time- Good verbal and written communication skills- Adaptability to different situations - Willingness to work weekends and late hours occasionally. Currently living in the Chicago area is a MUST. Applicant's living outside of the Chicago area will not be considered.
